Who runs ReloFig

ReloFig is an independent editorial research project run by The ReloFig Editorial Team. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any moving company, broker, van line, or real estate firm — and we do not arrange moves. The team is responsible for every page, figure, and calculator on this site.

Our approach

Data is compiled from primary and authoritative sources — FMCSA, the U.S. DOT OIG, BLS, EIA, IRS, Census, and each state's official regulator — with retrieval dates on every page. Every figure is verified against a source before it is published; anything unverified is marked as pending or omitted entirely. The open dataset is refreshed annually with a versioned changelog, documented on our Methodology page.

Why we exist

Most moving sites trade your phone number to movers for a fee, and quote "estimates" from black boxes. We publish the model, the public data behind it, and the verified state-by-state rules that protect you — then step back.

Where a professional or service helps, we point to reputable third-party providers, but we hold no special endorsement from them and our recommendations are never paid for. Rates and regulations change — always verify with the carrier, FMCSA, or your state regulator before acting.
